How to Print a Wide Excel Spreadsheet (Excel 2007 → Current)
Method 1 — Fit All Columns on One Page (Best Method)
This forces Excel to scale the sheet so the width fits on one page.
- Open your spreadsheet in Excel.
- Click the Page Layout tab.
- Look for the Scale to Fit section.
- Set:
- Width:
1 page - Height:
Automatic(or leave blank)
Now when you print, all columns will fit across one page.

Method 2 — Use Print Scaling (Quick Method)
- Press Ctrl + P.
- Under Settings, find Scaling.
- Choose:
- Fit All Columns on One Page
or

Method 3 — Change Page Orientation
Wide spreadsheets print better in landscape.
- Click Page Layout.
- Click Orientation.
- Select Landscape.
Method 4 — Reduce Margins
- Go to Page Layout.
- Click Margins.
- Choose Narrow.
This gives more printable space.
Method 5 — Print Only Selected Columns
If you only need part of the sheet:
- Highlight the columns you want to print.
